Dru Chen is a 30-year-old soul-pop Singapore-based artist who achieved his first break through his debut album, ‘Mirror Work’ which led to Warner signing him on the spot. The singer-songwriter also co-wrote with Tanya Chua and Ge Da Wei for Modern Brothers' Liu Yuning. This subsequently secured him an international publishing deal with Universal Music Publishing Group China. In October 2020, Dru co-wrote ‘Carnival’, a theme song for Riot Games’ League of Legends.

Best known for ‘Mirror Work’, Dru describes it as an ode to 70's music; experimenting with analogue tape recording techniques, black & white film-based visuals, and even pressing to the vinyl LP format for authenticity. Following the success of the album, Dru released ‘Who We R’, co-produced by Jesse Bear, and songwriter Paul McMurray. This nostalgic pop tune featured a stellar cast of contributors, such as Benjamin Kheng and Evanturetime among others. It is a markedly different approach from his earlier work, having a refined electronic pop vibe strung with nostalgic elements, focusing on the issues of identity and adolescence.

As a singer who has always paid close attention to depth and detail, Dru brings us onboard his journey in exploring the thoughtful and soulful expression that his artistry offers. From hit singles ‘When I Look Into Your Eyes’, which was placed on Mediacorp Channel 5's 2019 campaign, to ‘Distant Memory’ - these tunes evoke a 60’s blues & folk vibe reminiscent of The Rolling Stones and The Beatles, infused with the wistfulness of modern romanticism.
