Robert Plant has had an equally successful career as a solo artist. He has released 11 albums in total and with each album reaching platinum certification.
In 2009, he collaborated with Allison Kraus to release the album Raising sand that merges folk rock and country music. The album was produced by T-Bone Burnett who has produced for artist such as K.D Lang and Wallflowers. The album has been nominated for 5 Grammy Awards and won for “Album of the year” and “Record of the Year” in the 2009 Grammys Awards.
The album peaked at number 2 in the Billboard Top 200 album charts and number 2 in the UK album charts. The album has been certified Double Platinum since its album released.
