Global Rookie Group TRI.BE Hints at New Project in 2022

Making waves in the K-pop scene with their latest comeback, global rookie girl group TRI.BE recently held an online press conference to share more about their first mini-album【VENI VIDI VICI】that was released on October 12th. This mini-album comes after their first two single albums and it features 7 songs including the energetic title track 'WOULD YOU RUN'.

As someone who recently picked up dancing, I personally enjoyed TRI.BE's debut single 'DOOM DOOM TA' which has an addictive chorus that makes you want to move along to the beats, so I was really looking forward to their new music this time round.

'VENI VIDI VICI', which means “I came, I saw, I conquered” in Latin, was produced by renowned songwriter-producer Shinsadong Tiger and ELLY (EXID's LE). Containing 5 brand-new tracks in the album, the members shared that they're happy to show different sides of the group through these songs. They also took turns to describe their album using one-word each, where the girls mentioned 'Special', 'Perfect', 'Victory', 'Fantastic' and 'Beautiful'.

Even though it's only been 8 months since their debut, TRI.BE has already had 3 releases up their portfolio.

“We had very little time to prepare for this mini-album, but we just kept pushing overselves because we really enjoyed being on stage. We wanted to dedicate a song for our fans and thankfully, we're able to do so in our mini-album. At the same time, we also didn't want to keep the fans waiting too long, so we prepared this album with a thankful heart in all sincerity,” shared Hyunbin.

8 months into their debut, the girls also shared their experiences performing on stage.

“When I look back at our debut stage, everyone was very flustered and we're kind of feeling lost (on stage). But we've improved since then, now we know what to look out for,” said Kelly.

Soeun added, “Because there are multiple cameras on stage... We are now able to identify which cameras to look out for, so I feel like I've seen a bit of growth in myself.”

Since year end is approaching, I also took the opportunity to ask the members if they have any resolutions to share for the upcoming year.

Hyunbin answered, “Even though we only made our debut in February this year—it hasn't even been a year—it's all thanks to the people whom gave us their support that we're able to come this far and keep releasing new music. We are thankful that we were able to show our growth along the way and show our fans different sides of us.”

That being said, TRI.BE also dropped us a little spoiler that they're currently preparing for a big project slated to release next year, so all the TRUEs out there, make sure you watch their space and anticipate their growth in 2022!

Looks like the multilingual girl group has got many more new sides to be discovered and I'll be looking forward to that! Meanwhile, you can stream their latest EP【VENI VIDI VICI】on KKBOX:
