擔任怒金屬之音樂風潮先鋒份子，混種音樂祖師爺團Red Hot Chili Peppers(嗆辣紅椒)吉他手一職的John Frusciante，自1989年加入Red Hot Chili Peppers開始，便將自我苦練多年的吉他彈奏技巧，融以各音樂領域中大師級人物的彈奏風格，成功讓初次合作經典之作「Mother’s Milk」獲致主流市場的青睞，其中僅有1分37秒的純音樂演奏曲"Pretty Little Ditty"，被90年代Nu-Metal新生代樂團Crazy Town拿來取樣自排行冠軍成名作"Butterfly"中，讓新世代搖滾迷們更加好奇與找尋其音樂源頭！
1991年的「BloodSugarSexMagik」促使Red Hot Chili Peppers躍升為90年代搖滾史上重要的搖滾樂團之一。再度歸隊發行的「Californication」及「By The Way」銜接搖滾世代的音樂走向，快速匯集出廣大樂迷的喜愛！
1995~2001年間John前後推出了3張個人專輯「Niandra LaDes And Usually Just A T-Shirt」(1995)、「Smile From The Streets You Hold」(1997)、及「To Record Only Water For Ten Days」(2001)，相隔３年再度推出第４張大碟「Shadows Collide With People」。John找來他的創作搭檔，並兼鼓、吉他、鋼琴、貝斯、演唱等藝技於一身的好友Josh Klinghoffer共通合作，試圖將原音吉他、鼓等暖系音階搭上合成器所營造出的冷系音感，作一結合，Red Hot Chili Peppers貝斯好手Flea在此輯中更是獻出他彈奏的拿手絕活！
John極為滄桑的動人嗓音為他音樂作品增添不少幽暗色調的情節。夾雜著混音處理等失真音韻，貫入在流暢中版搖滾開場之作"Carvel"中，聲音的詮釋上也呈現多重情緒的落差！帶著些許復古龐克力道的"Second Walk"，僅以１分４２秒的時間暢意呈現！
快意率性的"This Cold"，展現出滑順的吉他音色與飽滿的貝斯音階；以充滿民謠閒適的小品"Song To Sing With I’m Lonely"到"Time Goes Back"都是輕易勾起情緒反應的優質作品！"Chances"不時環繞著電氣聲響的潤飾，在充滿復古懷舊的搖滾曲式之中；一路聆聽至末曲"The Slaughter"終了，John的個人作品令人有種莫名的感動，無論藉由內容十足的樂音鋪陳，或是極具個人特色之聲音情緒表現，都再次讓此輯流露出耐人聆聽的音樂感受！
