This diverse album contains many different types of sound, including environmental sounds collected by Cemelesai. It features two female singers, both Paiwan from Pintung, Taiwan, but with very different voices: Kereklj has a clear, sweet, and bright voice, while Eleng’s deeper voice is elegant and magnetic. Throughout the entire process, Cemelesai also collaborated with two good friends from Japan, bassist Ikeda Kinya and drummer Takeshi Sakamoto, as well as cellist Ocean Lee, and played guitar and piano himself. By matching the instrumentalists’ strong musical fundamentals and the vocalists’ distinct voices, Cemelesai hopes to keep the music’s truest form.
There are some things that can’t be expressed in words; they must be felt. Cemelesai and his fellow musicians completed this album together, precisely as its title suggests: “Ti Cemelesai Ata Salasaladj” is Paiwan for “Cemelesai and His Friends.” We hope that you will join us in this album and that, together with Cemelesai and his friends, you can feel the purest touch of music.
