We know SGAG Xiaoming as the internet's resident funnyman.

He's the lame guy with 🕶 and two cats. (He said so himself. Check outhis Instagram bio).He "terrorises" his SGAG colleagues with his lame jokes. His punchy quips either elicit eye-rolling or uncontrollable laughter.

But SGAG Xiaoming has a serious side to him. Aka SGAG founder Adrian Ang, Xiaoming isn't afraid to push out content which doesn't make people laugh.

The meme-churning site released their first song, 好不愿, to commemorate Mother's Day.

"SGAG is always known for humourous style. That's where we want to push our boundaries, to see if we can talk about more human stories," said Xiaoming. Dedicated to working mothers, the song is sung by Diya and written by KC from SGAG's team.

KKBOX spoke to Xiaoming & Diya to find out about the first-time collaboration. But before things got serious, we got the dynamic duo to have some fun with KKBOX

KKBOX: Why did SGAG decide to launch its first song?

Xiaoming: I feel like music is a special way of connecting with the audience. On SGAG, we do skits and stuff. I feel that songs are a good storytelling method. It has always been one of my creative ambition to write a song which connects with people.

Just nice, Mother's Day came around. There are working mums in our teams. We found out a bit more. That kind of melody, which singer would best bring out the emotions of the song. That's how the idea of writing the song came about.

I know SGAG is always known for humourous style. That's where we want to push our boundaries, to see if we can talk about more human stories.

KKBOX: Why did you decide to write the lyrics in Chinese?

Xiaoming: As you can tell, my Chinese is okay only. Growing up I always listen to Jay Chou and JJ Lin. Chinese songs just have a better way of connecting emotions than English songs. We thought Chinese songs would be a better way to communicate with our audience.

Diya: In the same amount of space, Chinese words are able to bring out a lot more than English words.

I think it filled a gap. There are a lot of songs about mothers out there. But this song was specifically tailored for working mums.

KKBOX: What's the message behind 好不愿?

Xiaoming: The story is talking about the struggles of working mothers. We wanted to them to know that they're not alone in this journey. The reality of things is that wemight not have it all figured out. A lot of mother's day story is too idealistic, don't worry, everybody will love each other. We wanted to present the reality as it is.

Diya: Many of my friends, who are working mums, shared the video on Facebook. Thank you SGAG, this is exactly how I feel.

KKBOX: Why did you pick Diya to sing the song?

We spent quite a bit of time and effort to look at our local music space to find the right voice for our song. When we finally heard Diya sing in one of her YouTube videos, we knew right away that she was the one who could best bring out the emotions of the song.

KKBOX: What did your mums say about the song?

Xiaoming:She was very surprised by the fact that it was a Chinese song. She was asking the same questions you guys asked me, why come up with this song. It's not entirely based on my mum, she helps my dad. But she is also a housewife. Especially in modern Singapore where a lot of models are actually working.

Diya: Oh, yeah. I actually haven't asked my mum.

KKBOX: Father's Day is coming soon...

Xiaoming: Maybe we can tweak the lyrics?

Diya: My dad is very chill. (吃了晚餐才玩 Candy Crush ~ sings)

KKBOX: Xiaoming, Does your mum find your jokes funny?

Xiaoming: No, actually. I'm quite serious at home. SGAG is like an escape from home.

Diya: So tiring to be funny all the time.

Xiaoming: That's why I only do it once in a while for videos.
