The tricks is a band formed in 2013 in Hangzhou China, by Yue Zhu (guitar/lead vocal), Yiyang Zhang (guitar), Benxian Li (bass) and Gongyi Li (drums). Intertwined and paralleled guitar melodies are the signature of the tricks’ sound, which joins with melodic bass line and deconstructing drum beats, the distinctive sound is formed. The tricks’ music is a mixture of math rock, folk, post-rock, instrumental rock and other ingredients. They wander between the pleasure brought by the musical instrument and the psychedelic electronic sound, sometimes singing emerges in between. They don’t limit themselves to a certain style.
