Highlights of The HallyuPopFest 2019

A mega Hallyu festival was held in Singapore over the weekend.

The festival was a blast for fans. Fans got a glimpse of K-pop stars who sashayed down a glamorous red carpet session. Up-and-coming acts performed at the afternoon showcases, featuring A.C.E, Trei, Kanto and VeriVery.

The extravaganza's highlight was the evening concerts held on Saturday (25 May) and Sunday (26 May). The 150-minute show featured big acts like Super Junior, MONSTAX and Winner. As expected of a large-scale Korean production, the concert was peppered withpyrotechnics, confetti and flames.

On the first night,NU'EST took the stage amid deafening screams — a move to welcome Hwang Min-hyun back to the team.He previously promoted as part of WANNA ONE, a temporary boyband formed from a boyband survival reality show.

Powerhouse singer Hyolyn turned on the heat with her oh-so-sexy charm.

She serenaded fans with solo tracks like Paradise and See Sea, as well as performed nostalgic tracks,Shake It and Ma Boy from her SISTAR days.

The one and only WINNER made the stage their playground. The boys partied the night away as they performed Love Me Love Me, Empty and Ah Yeah.

The dynamic quartet declared their love for fans, calling them "one in a million”. Wrapping the set up with Really Really,Winner showed us what a performance with 100 per cent efforts looks like.

The evening concert on the second day saw (G)I-DLE opening the show with Seorita and Maze.

“It is an honour for us to be here, and since we have prepared hard for the stages, please enjoy,” said So-yeon, the group's leader.The lasses took our breaths away with synchronised dance moves, spanning sweet and sexy.

KARD was up next. The co-ed group is known for their unique music style. Fans grooved to their catchy Oh Nana, Don't Recall and You in Me.

“I’m receiving so much energy from you guys (fans)” said J.Seph in perfect and articulated English. He also entertained with a gravity-defying somersault in the middle of the performance.

How can we miss out their recent release Bomb Bomb? The stage was set ablaze with flames to complement the quartet's fiery performance.

PENTAGON'S Hong-seok shared an interesting fact about himself. He once studied in Singapore for four years at Hwa Chong International. Any fellow students out there?

The group performed songs such as Sha La La, Violet. They showed use their signature dance moves with SHINE.

During the red carpet session, MONSTA X gave hints of a revealing performance later onstage. The answer came in the form of Wonho.The muscleman showed off his sculpted body in a sheer black top, raising the temperature in the stadium.

They did not hold back on their charisma. Performing Jealousy, Play It Cool to Dramaramawith explosive energy from start to finish.

The legends of K-pop Super Junior was the final act of the night. Fans were all prepared to welcome the idols by waving the band's officiallightsticks.

The boybanders took to the stage with earworm SORRY SORRY. They later performed a rearragned rendition ofBonamana.

While the other members introduced themselves in English, Dong-hae spoke in Mandarin.“It’s been two years since we last came to Singapore for Super Show 7, and we’ve missed you."

Yeseung and Ryeowook had solo stages, singing It Has To Be You and Drunk In The Morning respectively. The dancing dynamos took it a notch down with an emotional ballad One More Chance.

The band's leader Leeteuk had good news. He announced the group's comeback later this year, which marks their 15th anniversary.

The playful Leeteuk also tipped off fans. Eunhyuk was staying behind to tour Singapore.
