It’s official. Blackpink is finally serving up their first-ever full-length album after four years. The long-awaited record, “The Album”, is now out on KKBOX.

What's it's only BLACKPINK's first album? This may come as a surprise to manybecause theydebuted in 2016, and are everywhere.

The quartet churned out chart-topping hits with a vengeance, graced theCoachella stage last year, made appearances on American TV shows, such as The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon and The Late Show with Stephen Colbert.

The girls have bee dropping cookie crumbs, leaving a treat trail for fans tillD-day.

Celebrity Crossovers Galore

In August, Blackpink teased the release of their inaugural full-length album. They dropped a pre-release single fit for the summer, “Ice Cream”, featuring pop icon Selena Gomez.

Blackpink is no stranger to collaborating with A-list artists.They worked on “Kiss and Make Up” with Dua Lipa back in 2018 and collaborated with Lady Gaga for “Sour Candy” earlier this year.

On The Album, Blackpink adds another collab with Cardi B. The American rappermade a feature on the fourth track in the album, titled “Bet You Wanna”.

Lovesick Girls Jisoo and Jennie

The title track,“Lovesick Girls”, is written by Blackpink members Jisoo and Jennie. Jennie was also the producer.

“Lovesick Girls is the story of everyone – all of us”, said vocalist Jisoo at the online press conference held earlier. That’s why fans can relate to the song well.

The songwriters want to spread positivity through the song.Jisoo said: “It’s a song that carries a positive message that tells everyone to have hope.

The three-minute track tells the story of girls who, as the title suggests, are lovesick. We're stuck in unhappy relationships. But yet when we're alone, we're searching for love.

Leader Jennie told the media: “We put our heart and soul into the album." We can feel it.
